Item Description Comments Weight (ounces)
Pack Osprey Aether 60 - large - 3900 cu. in. I love this pack.  'Nuff said. 56.0
Bag - 3 season Mountain Hardware Phantom 32 - long 32 degree, 800 fill power down 23.0
Bag - Winter North Face Superlight Endurance - long -5 degree, 600 fill power down, Pertex Endurance Shell.  Haven't tested it to -5F, but it kept me warm at +10F. 62.0
Pad Cascade Designs Thermarest Guidelite - full length Nothing like sleeping on a mattress.  Worth the weight. 32.0
Tent Golite Trig 2 Shelter A new addition.  Single wall sil-nylon upper/PU coated nylon floor tent that sets up with trekking poles.  Area: 33 sq. ft. + 13 vestibule 53.0
Cookset GSI Outdoors Bugaboo teflon mess kit Nice little set; two teflon coated pans, plastic cup and bowl.  The pans are large enough to fry up bacon or quesadillas, both highly recommended camp foods. 19.0
Snow Peak Titanium Cookset A new addition - two small pots plus a small fry pan; a cookset for my "solitary" adventures.  Coupled with the aluminum can stove and Primus tea kettle it shaves off almost 1.5 pounds vs. the Svea and GSI mess kit 7.0
Primus Litech Coffee/Tea Kettle Very efficient piece of gear for boiling water.  The wide bottom captures a majority of stove "flame" and the lid keeps the heat in.  Not quite a Jetboil system, but works well nonetheless. 5.3
Foam insulated plastic mug A "standard" insulated plastic mug with the snap on lid.  A must for the tea or coffee drinker 5.0
Stove Optimus Svea 123 A bit antiquated in appearance, a bit heavier than the rest, but highly dependable.  The variable flame makes this a useful piece of gear for more "complex" cooking assignments. 22.0
Stove #2 "aluminum can" alcohol stove I recently acquired a hand-made aluminum can stove which I saw in action on one of my recent trips.  Stove, pot stand, and windscreen weigh in at approximately 2 ounces.  I am absolutely overwhelmed with this little jewel. I can also fit the stove, stand, and windscreen into my Primus tea kettle which eliminates bulk as well. The Svea will be getting a rest except for car camping trips, methinks. ** During an "in garage" test, I was able to boil 750 ml of water in the Primus tea kettle in 6 minutes.  **Trail test: On the Silers Bald trip this stove performed perfectly, even in temperatures as low as 10 degrees.  Just takes a little longer to prime (30 - 60 seconds).

 Approx. 2.0

Water Filtration / Purfication Pur (Katadyn) Hiker   11.7
Aqua Mira water treatment Kills bacteria and cysts (giardia).  This is an ultralight alternative to the pump filter. 1.0
Boots Vasque Sundowner Classic
Trekking Poles Leki Super Makalu Air Ergo PA These things have saved me from falling on my backside a few times, as well as providing assist on the uphill and the downhill.  Also doubles as tent poles for the Trig 2. 19.8
"software"
Shell(s) Arc'Teryx Theta AR 3 layer Gore-Tex XCR hard shell 20.0
Arc'Teryx Gamma SV Polartec Power Shield soft shell.  Can't say enough about almost anything made by Arc'Teryx.  Top notch design, quality, and performance. 23.0
Socks Bridgedale AT Bootplus Bridgedale socks are the best in my book.  Of course my book probably reads very different from a lot of others...
