Taken on a day hike in the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest on Mother's Day 2003.  One of the many old growth Tulip Trees in this forest area.  Joyce Kilmer Memorial forest is accessible from the foot of the Cherohala Skyway near Robbinsville, NC.     Top

Old Friends, dearly departed

A really old pair of Danner boots my father bought for me over 20 years ago.  After the Gregory Bald trip in the Winter of 2002, I finally retired them.  They were well worn as you can see.  A proper burial later that spring...     Top
